Located in the ‘Hansa’ house along the banks of the river Schelde where in the past merchants discharged their ships, AMICA was founded in 1984 by Mr. Gilbert Simons.
The Simons family has a long tradition in insurance and was one of the founding fathers of the ‘Grandes Conditions d’Anvers’ in the year 1859, which insurance conditions became the world-wide standard and provided a wider cover than the conditions available in the English market (Lloyd’s) at that time.
Still today, we provide our clients with the widest possible cover for amongst others transport, storage and charterers’ liability risks and with advice on all matters related thereto.
